Chia (Salvia hispanica) comes from South America, where it was already grown in prehistoric times. The Aztecs in Mexico appreciated the plant even so much that annual festivals were dedicated to it.
Chia seeds contain 64% of omega-3 and 19% of omega-6 fatty acids, they also contain high amounts of antioxidants, fibres, calcium, magnesium, phosphorous, iron, and boron. Chia seeds are also full of fibres which help to lose weight if needed; they keep the stomach full and help with digestion.
How to use:
Add 1-3 tsp to your favorite meal or food. They can be added to salads, porridges, soups and desserts. Because the seeds of chia are 2 millimeters of grains, they can be eaten in whole-size, but breaking them helps to improve their absorption. Chia seeds have a good ability to form a jelly-like substance, so they can also be used to make puddings and jelly.
Storage conditions:
Store at room temperature, keep away from direct sunlight if possible. After each use seal it carefully.
